Features Of The Dodge Viper

The Dodge Viper is known across the automotive industry as being a highly sought-after and collectable sports car model as production ceased just a few short years ago. Recognizable design and heart-pumping performance, Dodge manufactured a supercar that knew how to excite and astound all at once. Here at Pfaff Reserve, we have a great passion for high-end cars and uniting our Calgary clients with the classic models of their dreams, such as the Viper. Stay tuned as we discuss the stand-out features of the Dodge Viper and its production history below.

The Venom Red Icon Was Born

The most prominent colour splashed across the body of the classic Dodge Viper in its years of existence is known as Venom Red. Unveiled in 1989 and produced in its first generation from 1991 to 1995, the Viper lacked the ‘Objects in mirror are closer than they appear’ warning. The engineers that built this vehicle were known as ‘Team Viper’, and they believed that there were no objects on earth that would enter into the rearview mirror and be able to keep up, therefore deciding to forego the warning altogether. This high-end sports car went into the second generation of production from 1996 to 2002, with a significant redesign spearheading the way for the third generation from 2003 to 2007.

A Collector’s Dream Model Created

After its fourth and fifth generation, production of the Dodge Viper ceased all-together in 2017, with the closing down of the assembly plant. But that wasn’t the first time production was discontinued, as 2010 witnessed Dodge create the Viper SRT10 model as a ‘Final Edition,’ producing only 50 cars for its automotive swan song. This special-edition model skyrocketed to the top of the must-have list for supercar enthusiasts and collectors everywhere. However, the Viper bared its fangs again when it entered the market from 2013 to 2017.

A New Viper Revealed

The final Dodge Viper model hit markets in 2016 and was meticulously engineered to produce 645 horsepower, reaching top speeds of 310 kilometres, with the ability to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 3 seconds. Although announced as the final model, a new stirring in the industry has revealed that this is not so, as a brand-new Viper is set to hit markets within the next few years!
